The basics

What Is a Click Counter?

A click counter keeps a running total whenever you press its counting button with a mouse, touchscreen or keyboard. Unlike a click speed test, it has no time limit. Use it to count people, inventory, repetitions, laps, scores or any other quantity.

A counter, not a speed test

Want to measure how quickly you click your mouse? Use the CPS Test instead. This page counts quantities, not clicks per second.

This clicker counter only adds to your total when you use its Count button. It does not monitor your mouse or keyboard elsewhere on your computer.

What gets counted

What Does This Mouse Click Counter Actually Count?

This online mouse click counter counts clicks and taps on its Count button, as well as Space or Enter presses when that button is selected. It does not count clicks on other websites, apps, desktop windows or areas of this page.

Mouse, touch and keyboard

Click or tap the big Count button to add the selected step. To count with a keyboard, use Tab to select that button and then press Space or Enter.

Only counts this button

Clicks elsewhere are not added. Press Count each time you want to increase your total. For timed mouse clicking, try the CPS Test.

Digital tallying

What Is an Online Tally Counter?

An online tally counter works like a handheld clicker counter, but runs in your browser. Press Count to increase the total, use Undo to correct a mistake, or keep separate counts for different things. You do not need to install an app.

More than one total

How to Count Multiple Things at Once

Choose Add counter to create another total. Rename it to something useful, such as Adults, Children or Team A. Select a counter to update it with the main Count button. Each counter keeps its own name, total and Count by setting.

Separate totals

Switch between counters without losing the numbers you have already recorded. You can create up to 20 counters in the same browser.

Count by more than one

Choose a step size of 1, 2, 5 or 10. If you choose Count by 5, three presses of Count take your total from 0 to 15. The Minus button subtracts 5 at a time.

Correct your count

How to Undo, Subtract and Reset a Count

These three actions do different things. Minus subtracts the amount selected under Count by, Undo restores the total before the most recent change, and Reset count sets the selected counter to zero. You can Undo a reset if it was a mistake.

ActionExample with a step of 5What happens
Count (+5)10 → 15Adds five to the selected counter
Minus (−5)15 → 10Subtracts five, but never goes below zero
Undo10 → 15Restores the count before your last change
Reset count15 → 0Clears the selected counter; Undo can restore 15
What Undo can restore

Undo works with recent count changes, including a reset. If the latest change was made to another counter, Undo switches back to it and restores its previous total. You can undo up to 50 recent changes until you reload the page. Reloading clears Undo history but not your saved counts.

Counts cannot go below zero. Deleting a counter removes its name and total, so use Copy all counts first if you need a backup.

Everyday uses

What Can You Use a Click Counter For?

An online clicker counter can track anything you need to tally, without a spreadsheet or pen and paper.

People counting

Create counters named Adults and Children, then select the right one each time someone arrives. Both totals stay separate as you switch between them.

Inventory counting

Count cartons, products or stock items. If each group contains five items, choose Count by 5 rather than pressing the button five times per group.

Exercise and laps

Record sets, repetitions or laps without having to remember the total yourself.

Scores and games

Keep separate totals for teams, rounds or activities that need manual scorekeeping.

Choose the right tool

Click Counter vs. CPS Test

A click counter records the total number of clicks or taps without a time limit. A CPS test measures clicks per second during a timed mouse challenge. Use this page to keep a tally, or the CPS Test to measure clicking speed.

Click Counter

No fixed time limit. Click, tap or activate the button with your keyboard to count things and manage several totals.

CPS Test

Timed mouse-clicking challenges with a score in clicks per second and a breakdown of clicking speed.

Privacy and saving

How Are Your Counts Saved?

Your counter names, totals and Count by settings are saved in this browser on this device, as long as your browser allows saving. You can refresh the page or return later to continue. Your totals might not be available in private browsing, after clearing this site's data, or on another device.

What the browser remembers

It remembers your counter names, totals, Count by settings and which counter you last selected. Your recent Undo steps are kept only while this page remains open.

How to keep a separate copy

Choose Copy all counts to copy each counter's name and total as text. You can paste those totals into a note or spreadsheet. Your copied text contains the counter names and totals, so you can keep a copy outside this browser.

Your counts stay on your device

You do not need an account. The counting tool does not upload your counter names or totals. If your browser cannot save them, you will see a warning. Clearing site data or using another browser can also make saved counters unavailable.

Quick fixes

Why Is My Click Counter Not Counting or Saving?

If your count does not change or your saved totals are missing, check the following before starting again.

The number is not increasing

Make sure you are clicking or tapping the large Count button, not just anywhere on the page. If you are using a keyboard, select the Count button with Tab before pressing Space or Enter.

Your count has stopped at zero

The Minus button cannot make your total negative. Use Count to add again, or choose another counter if you meant to update a different total.

Your saved counters disappeared

Check that you are using the same browser and device. Private browsing, clearing this site's data or a setting that blocks saving can make your totals unavailable later.

Undo is no longer available

Undo can restore recent changes only until you reload the page. After a refresh, your saved counts may still be there, but the earlier Undo history is gone. Use Copy all counts for a separate record.

Click Counter FAQ

What is a click counter?

A click counter keeps a running total each time you click, tap or press its Count button. Unlike a speed test, it has no time limit.

How do I use an online click counter?

Click or tap the Count button to add to your total. To count with a keyboard, use Tab to select Count, then press Space or Enter. You can change the counting step to 1, 2, 5 or 10.

Is a click counter the same as a tally counter?

Yes. An online tally counter is a digital version of a handheld clicker counter. Here you can also undo mistakes, count several things separately and save your totals in your browser.

Can I count mouse clicks without a timer?

Yes. Click the Count button as many times as you want. This tool does not track clicks elsewhere on your computer. To measure clicks per second, use the CPS Test.

Does this click counter track every mouse click on my computer?

No. It counts only clicks or taps on the Count button and Space or Enter when that button is selected. Clicks elsewhere on the page, in other apps or on other websites are not added.

How does counting by 5 or 10 work?

Choose Count by 5 or 10 to add that amount every time you use the Count button. For example, three presses with Count by 5 take the total from 0 to 15. Minus subtracts the same step without going below zero.

Can I use a click counter on my phone?

Yes. Tap the large Count button on your phone or tablet. You can also use Minus, Undo, Reset and multiple counters on a touchscreen.

Can I create multiple click counters?

Yes. Choose Add counter, give each counter a name and switch between them. Each counter has its own total and step size. You can create up to 20 counters.

How do I undo or reset a count?

Minus subtracts the amount selected under Count by. Undo restores the number before your most recent count change, including a reset. Reset count sets only the selected counter to zero.

Why did Undo stop working after I refreshed?

Counter names, totals and steps can be saved in this browser, but Undo can restore up to 50 recent changes until you reload the page. Refreshing clears that history without clearing the saved counts.

Will my counter be saved when I close the page?

When browser storage is available, counter names, totals and counting steps are saved on this device. You may lose them if you clear this site's data or use private browsing. They do not automatically appear on other devices.

What is the difference between a click counter and a CPS test?

A click counter tracks totals without a timer. A CPS test measures mouse clicks per second during a timed challenge. Use the counter for tracking quantities and the CPS Test for speed.
